My favourite thing about visiting different cities is finding hidden gems that become a necessity to visit upon return. The Hall is a buzzing, yet spacious cafe in the heart of Lancaster city centre which has become one of my favourite places to relax when I find myself up north. The large tables and yummy food essentials (creamy hot chocolate, cakes & tea mmm) make it the perfect work or study or friendly catch up spot.

I'm a big fan of open kitchens, and I love the fact that you can see all the cakes being made from scratch in their bakery (I highly recommend the carrot cake, it's far too good!) The Hall is also next door to it's second home J. Atkinson & Co Coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker myself, but I've been told this shop is worth the visit for those who are!

Despite the tall ceilings, the old movies projected onto the walls, and the industrial yet clean decor, there's something very cosy about this place that I quite like...
maybe I'm just the kind of girl who'll fall far too easily for a very good cup of hot chocolate.
