FILMING + EDITING TALK

Happy Monday!

So recently I've been on a little bit of a mission to push myself when it comes to editing my YouTube videos. I love watching channels that are visually eye catching or have some sort of quirky elements to them. I find so much satisfaction in taking the time to edit something rather than throwing it together and uploading it in a mad rush, (although I've definitely had some of those moments before!)
This means that it occasionally takes me a little longer to upload content, BUT I have plenty of fun brainstorming ideas and putting it all together!
For my latest video I decided to have a little stab at filming my own version of a Weekend Morning Routine.
I wanted to take a popular simple idea and add little elements like titles and transitions to see what I could come up with. For me, filming and editing has become a pretty big hobby of mine over the past year. I'm in no way the best at it, but I will always be that kid asking questions at the front of the class. I don't think I will ever get tired of learning about the magical ways of lenses and light leaks (major morning nerd vibes right here)

Current video set up

Software: Final Cut Pro X
Camera: Cannon 600d
Lens: Cannon 50mm 1.8

If you're looking to learn more about the basics of filming, I'd highly recommend the YouTube channel Creator Class!
Lenses, light, settings, style, you name it and they'll be a quick simple break down video of it!
They upload weekly and also feature different artists and film makers who share their own nuggets of wisdom too!
