EASY HOMEMADE GRANOLA RECIPE

Morning folks!

One of my ALL time favourite snacks is a bowl of yogurt topped with granola, and an inexplainable amount of blueberries. If you haven't tried it, please do... it's the bomb! However I've always found that pre-mixed granola has an unbelievable amount of sugar in it, usually disguised by the fact that it appears healthy. We see oats and grains and automatically assume that it's good for us. Of course, there's nothing wrong with having things in moderation, but if you're anything like me, it's VERY easy to get carried away.
So yesterday I had a little go at making my own granola. Not only is this recipe super easy to make, but it's also very flexible. If you feel like adding different kinds of nuts, more oats, more dried fruits, it's very easy to experiment with! This batch makes around 10 servings and lasts up to a month.

WHAT YOU NEED

250g rolled oats
100g flaked almonds
50g pecans
100g raisins or any other dried fruit
50g shreadded coconuts
5tbsp honey
3tbsp vegetable oil

WHAT TO DO

1. Pre heat the oven to 150 degrees

2. Put the honey and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Add the oats, pecans, and flaked almonds. Mix well until the dry ingredients are well coated in the honey and oil.

3. Line a baking tray with baking paper, then spread the mixture evenly over the tray.
(I'd recommend using a few baking trays so that the mixture isn't too compact. The more space there is between the mixture, the crunchier it will be!)

4. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, then remove.

5. Add the coconut and the raisins to the mixture. The put it back into the oven for a further 10-15 minutes, until the granola is crispy and golden.

I stored my granola in jars for ultimate freshness!

If you have a go, leave me a message. I'd love to hear how yours went!
