Their wide range of affordable products make it the perfect one-stop shop for all things homely. From teapots, candles, face masks, to baking equipment and blankets, you name it and you will find it there. I must be honest and admit that I happened to get a little bit excited and pick up all of these things... and more.
Yesterday I posted my very own Valentines Day Treat Yo' Self video guide, as a little inspiration for those of you who want to pamper yourself this February 14th. You can have a look below!
A QUICK VALENTINE'S DAY TREAT YO' SELF GUIDE
INSPIRATION
When it comes down to planning the perfect cosy day or night in, I like to kick things off with a bit of inspiration. For me, food and music seem to be massive influencers in all things chill related. After picking up a dessert recipe book on my quest, I decided to make these heart shaped biscuits with sassy, empowering female song lyrics written on them. I mean, who wouldn't want 'I'm a Survivor' by Destiny's Child written on their food? If it was up to me, it would be written on everything edible, but we'll discuss that another time. You can find the basic biscuit recipe and icing I used here.
PAMPER YOURSELF
Face masks, a nice warm bubble bath, scrubs, the whole shebang. Why not? You deserve it. For me, treating yourself means taking that extra time you would have spent running around to relax a little bit longer, or adding little touches to every day activities to make them extra special.

SET THE MOOD
Blankets, pyjamas, candles, a film, candles... and erm, more candles. You may have guessed from the video I went a little bit candle crazy. There's just something about low lighting and the scent of vanilla that makes me want to curl up and get comfy. Also, you can't go wrong with tea, snacks, and a good film. On this occasion, I opted for my favourite romantic comedy Crazy Stupid Love. If you've not seen it, I highly recommend it - especially for a Valentines Day watch. It's witty, well written, and features a killer cast; Steve Carrell, Julianne Moore and Emma Stone to name a few. If that doesn't convince you, Ryan Gosling is also in it and he wears a suit for the majority of the film. Case closed.
(I'd just like to add that I'm convinced that this guy above is the tea pot of dreams)

Have a wonderful Valentines Day, and remember to treat yourself!

I love your filming style, and your music is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe biscuits with song lyrics is a fantastic idea, and I completely agree, candles are essential for relaxation!
